Ayumi Hamasaki Teams Up with McDonald’s Japan for Three-Month “Golden Campaign”: Japanese pop icon Ayumi Hamasaki has joined forces with McDonald’s Japan for a special three-month collaboration celebrating music, food and memorable experiences.
The “Golden Campaign” officially launched on October 2, coinciding with Hamasaki’s 40th birthday, and will run through December 31, 2026. The campaign is being conducted through McDonald’s Japan’s official app and its My McDonald’s Rewards program.
The centerpiece of the campaign will be “Golden Live,” a one-night special performance recorded exclusively for the collaboration. Scheduled for November 21 in Tokyo, the event will be staged inside a specially created “McDonald’s Diner.”
Hamasaki will appear wearing a McDonald’s crew uniform and perform a selection of songs personally chosen for the special occasion. A total of 200 people will be selected to attend the recording through a lottery available to eligible My McDonald’s Rewards participants.
The performance is also set to reach a much wider audience. McDonald’s Japan plans to release the recorded concert on its official YouTube channel beginning December 20, giving fans who cannot attend the exclusive event an opportunity to experience the performance online.
Exclusive Ayumi Hamasaki Merchandise
The collaboration extends beyond the concert, with a series of limited-edition Ayumi Hamasaki and McDonald’s products being offered through the rewards program.
The merchandise lineup includes T-shirts, long towels, plates and mugs, with different items becoming available for applications throughout October and November. The campaign also includes exclusive digital content for participants.
Under the My McDonald’s Rewards program, customers earn points when purchasing products through the official McDonald’s Japan app. Those points can then be used to enter lotteries for the special campaign rewards.
Music Comes to McDonald’s Restaurants
Hamasaki’s presence will also extend into McDonald’s restaurants across Japan. Beginning October 14, she will appear in nationwide “Music Value” broadcasts in McDonald’s locations, bringing her music directly into the restaurant experience.
Hamasaki described “Golden Live” as a special stage created exclusively for the campaign, saying she is preparing a performance that audiences attending in person and those watching online can both enjoy.
The collaboration represents an unusual convergence of one of Japan’s most recognizable pop stars with one of the country’s largest global restaurant brands, turning an everyday dining experience into a broader entertainment and fan-engagement campaign.
With its combination of an exclusive concert, collectible merchandise, digital rewards and in-store music programming, the Ayumi Hamasaki × McDonald’s Japan Golden Campaign is designed to create a series of limited-time experiences for fans through the end of 2026.
