From Twitter Manga to Television Adaptation
Atasha Kawashiri Kodama Dayo originally gained popularity as an essay manga published on Twitter in 2020.
Created by Kodama Kawashiri, the series attracted readers through its relatable humour, distinctive illustrations and entertaining observations about everyday habits.
Rather than focusing on dramatic storylines, the manga celebrates ordinary experiences, including eating favourite foods, relaxing at home and finding simple ways to enjoy life.
Its popularity eventually helped establish it as a recognised title among manga readers, creating an opportunity for a live-action adaptation.
Japanese Television Continues Expanding Manga Adaptations
The upcoming drama reflects the continuing popularity of manga-based television productions in Japan.
Japanese entertainment companies have increasingly adapted successful manga and web-based stories into live-action dramas, anime and streaming productions, connecting established fan communities with wider television audiences.
With Kanna Hashimoto leading the cast and Yuichi Fukuda handling both direction and screenplay, the new adaptation is expected to attract fans of Japanese comedy, manga and television entertainment.
The 25-episode series will begin airing on January 11, 2027, on NTV’s ZIP!, with simultaneous streaming on Hulu.
