Robert Downey Jr and Pedro Pascal Swap Avengers: Doomsday Roles for Halloween: Hollywood actors Robert Downey Jr and Pedro Pascal brought a playful twist to Halloween celebrations by swapping their Marvel character looks from the upcoming film Avengers: Doomsday. The Marvel stars surprised fans with a Halloween costume switch, exchanging the looks of Doctor Doom and Mister Fantastic ahead of the upcoming Avengers film.
Downey Jr, who is set to portray Victor von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom, appeared in a Mister Fantastic-inspired look, while Pascal, who plays Reed Richards, popularly known as Mister Fantastic, took on the appearance of Doctor Doom.
The costume switch offered fans a humorous glimpse of the two actors outside their on-screen roles and quickly attracted attention across social media.
The two actors are among the central figures in Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday, which brings together characters from the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men and Wakanda franchises.
Downey Jr’s return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe has generated considerable interest. After playing Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man, across several Marvel films, he is returning in a completely different role as Doctor Doom, one of Marvel Comics’ prominent antagonists.
Pascal joins the film as Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four, whose character has a longstanding rivalry with Doctor Doom in Marvel’s comic-book universe.
Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 18, 2026. The film features a large ensemble cast, including Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Florence Pugh and several returning X-Men actors.
The Halloween costume exchange added a light-hearted promotional moment to the growing anticipation surrounding the Marvel production, while giving fans another reason to discuss the upcoming superhero crossover.
